I enjoy an adventure!  Whether it's camping with my family, planning fieldtrips for my students, researching new ways to assist students who are struggling or just diving into a good book- life is always has a way of turning into an adventure!  I believe this is what draws me to teach young children.  I never know what the day will hold for me.

About Me

My educational journey...

I grew up the suburbs of Detroit, MI.  I began my college experience at Michigan State University.  While taking my first lab, Child Growth and Development and having a chance to interact with the preschool children at the early childhood center, I developed a love of working with young children.  Later I came to realize that I would prefer to teach in a parochial school setting.  I transferred to Concordia University- St. Paul, MN where I graduated with my Bachelors of Arts in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.

I have since gone on to teach first grade in Pittsburgh, PA and serve as the preschool teacher and director in Minneapolis, MN. Currently I am serving as the kindergarten teacher and technology coordinator for St. Michael Lutheran school in Wayne, MI.  Each day comes with it's own sense of adventures, which is just one of the many reasons why I love this age.  Young children bring a love of learning and make me laugh each day.  I love watching the excitement on their faces when they read their first words!  I love that they speak their mind and give you honest answers.  Finally, I love that I can play a small role in helping them find their way as they begin their journey of knowledge.

Technology has brought such a new dimension to our classrooms and it's an exciting time to be a teacher.  I have a chance to share what I've learned in my graduate studies with my peers and assist them in implementing the best technology tools for the situations they are in.  I offer support and training to our staff as well as research future technology projects that they are interested in.  Our goal is to provide our students and families with technology that supports their learning in a positive way.   Being able to offer my support to my fellow teachers and help them to reach their students in different ways using technology gives me a sense of accomplishment.
