As a Teacher...
I teach kindergarten at St. Michael Lutheran School in Wayne, MI. I love this age so much! There is so much growth that occurs over the course of the year! Physically of course, but intellectually and socially they undergo huge changes! I believe they learn best by doing and so I have them up and moving as we act out our math problems, sing to our phonics or explore our science concepts. One of the blessings of working in a small school is that we have a chance to know all of the students in Kindergarten through Eighth grade. They have a chance to be a part of activities like an all-school musical. I love that my kindergarteners are a part of this! They interact and learn from the older students while the teachers gently guide everyone to keep them on schedule.
