Examples of Student Work
Kindergarten has significantly changed over the years, with a heavy emphasis on academic skills. While my program certainly does focus on these components, I incorporate projects and movement activities to meet the students at their development level.
At the beginning of the year, students are asked to bring in a shoebox that they decorate. With the help of their parents, they fill out a questionnaire listing their favorite foods, activities and other important information. Finally, they place five items of importance to them inside the box and bring it to school to present in front of the class.

Classroom Activities
Here are some pictures of our day to day activities such as Language Arts, Mathematics and Science. We also have small group centers in which the students will rotate to each area and complete the activity with their group. Such areas may be blocks, art, partner reading or the sensory table, just to name a few.

Special Projects
Throughout the year we complete thematic projects to reinforce the units we study. Some of these are completed at home with the students' families and some are group assignments done at school. These projects give the students an opportunity to present their work in front of the class and showcase their talents. I believe this allows each student to show their individual expression and creativity which needs to be encouraged and fostered at this age.
